2016 was the year Honda started to use new refrigerant R-1234YF, That is the cause for all the AC problems in the coming years. I think the class action lawsuit was about that. Sometimes I just wonder why I had to walk into dealer in Jan 2016 to upgrade my Civic, my previous 2008 was perfectly fine. Its AC problem has haunted me again and again.
Hi I have a 2009 Honda Civic with air conditioning problems. Last summer it quit all together and checking it out the a/c clutch was fried. I replaced the compressor and clutch. Just about to hit 38,000 miles on it and the AC is starting to act up. It seems like it happens whenever the RPM get above 2000 but it also has happened at lower rpm. I'm not entirely sure what to think here. It runs fine when you turn the car on, but if it goes off while driving its staying off until I stop and turn the car off and on again.
